Golden Time

There is always a buzz around Sylvan on a Friday afternoon in Years 1 and 2 because it is Golden Time!

Golden Time is used to complement our reward based systems that we have running at Sylvan in each classroom. All children in Years 1 and 2 start the week with their full compliment of Golden Time minutes which is 25 in total. On a Monday morning the children will sign up to their Golden Time activity of their choice. Over the week some children might loose some of their Golden Time minutes if their behaviour is not in keeping with our whole school Golden Rights Charter.

There are always at least 12 activities to choose from in each year group as each teacher and TA provide a fun activity that we know the children are going to enjoy. Activities include Head Teachers tea party, party games, dressing up, junk modelling, cartoons, cutting and sticking, making masks, word searches, photo booth,  laptops, dancing, biscuit decorating, board games and lots, lots more!

We have so much fun and nobody wants Friday afternoons to end!
